Matt graduated from Royal Veterinary College (London) in 1999 and joined the practice as an assistant vet in October of that year, becoming a partner in 2004.

Jonathan Harwood

Partner

Jonathan qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1986. Following an association with St Peter’s Veterinary Group extending over twenty years, Jonathan joined the partnership in 2010.

A full 24 hour emergency service is provided 365 days a year with at least one veterinary surgeon and nurse from our practice on call for emergencies. Phone any of our surgeries during the day or night to contact either a receptionist or veterinary surgeon. You will either be given advice by the veterinary surgeon or they will arrange to see your animal.

John Wakefield

John Wakefield

John qualified in Dublin and has been a partner since 1991.

John has specialised in small animal work and has been responsible for the computerisation at Petersfield and Horndean surgeries. He has a particular interest in radiology and orthopaedic surgery.

An ambition is to continue to develop and expand the facilities and service this practice can offer to our clients.

John is married to Niamh and they have three children - Ben, David and Catherine and a pet dog, 'Rufus'. His outside interests include sport, including water-skiing and rugby ("It hurts too much to play anymore!), and being Governor of Petersfield Infants School.

Matt Tyler

Matt Tyler

Matt is SPVG's most recent partner in the practice. He graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (London) in 1999 and joined the practice as an Assistant Veterinary Surgeon in October of that year, becoming a partner in July 2004. He enjoys most areas of veterinary medicine but has a particular interest In ultrasonography (diagnostic imaging in which ultrasound is used to image an intemal body structure) and endoscopy (visual inspection of intemal organs).

Matt lives in Petersfield with his wife, Jo, who is also a Vet. They have two sons, James and Zachary.

When not at work, Matt enjoys walking his dog, playing cricket and squash (especially when he beats John Wakefield) and socialising with friends.

Jonathan Harwood

Jonathan Harwood

Jonathan Harwood first visited St Peter’s Veterinary Group in the days when he was in short trousers. He qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1986 and settled in the Petersfield area three years later. Following an association with St Peter’s Veterinary Group extending over twenty years, Jonathan joined the partnership in 2010.

Jonathan is interested in all aspects of modern companion animal practice and is responsible for the practice’s branch surgery at Liss.

He lives in Petersfield and is married to Sue and has three children. He has a young dog called Jess who keeps him exercised and he also helps care for his son’s Corn Snake.
